February 2025 Newsletter - Introducing Spaces

Hello everyone!
Hope you’re having an great start to 2025. 2025 is going to be a big year for Dosu and we cannot wait to show you what we are cooking up.
This is the first of a monthly newsletter to keep you in the loop on we’ve been shipping.
🌌 Introducing Spaces
Teams that use Dosu for multiple projects and services often wanted to share the same set of data sources across GitHub, Slack, Linear, or wherever else they interacted with Dosu.
Previously, this required creating and configuring multiple workspaces and constantly keeping them in-sync.
Now, we’re excited to announce Spaces—an easy way to share the same set of data source across all the channels you interact with Dosu on. A space typically corresponding to a product, project, or service.
🔜 Spaces will serve as the foundation for future documentation and knowledge management features. Stay tuned.
🚧 Migration Alert
We’ve automatically migrated existing workspaces to Spaces. If you have questions or if something looks wrong, please reach out! We are here to help. Just shoot us an email at hi@dosu.dev or ping us in the community Discord/Slack.
😵💫 Name Change tldr;
As part of introducing Spaces, we also renamed a few parts of the app to avoid confusion. Here is the quick rundown:
Renames
- A workspace is now a Channel in a Space
- The Thread tab is now called the Inbox
Glossary
- Space → typically corresponds to a project, library, or service. It allows organizing and sharing data sources across multiple channels.
- Channel → where you can interact with Dosu. This can be a Slack channel, GitHub issues/discussions, Linear, and more places coming soon.
- Inbox → a single view to monitor conversations and activity happening across your Space’s channels.
🌈 Generate Previews
Ever wondered what Dosu’s suggestion might be on an open issue or ticket? Wonder no more.
The new Generate Preview button allows you to get an on-demand answer for any conversation. Just navigate to any thread in the Inbox
page that doesn’t already have a Dosu response, click the button, and see what Dosu has to say!
✉️ Inbox Fancy Filters, Archiving, and Bulk Actions
If you haven’t seen the new Inbox page—formerly the Thread page—then you should check it out because the new designs look really, really good.
What’s more is that the updates aren’t only cosmetics, we’ve also shipped a few fun and highly requested features.
🗂️ Filters, Filters, and more Filters!
Threads — whichever way you want them. Filter threads by Channel, Channel Type, Read/Unread, Archived, and based on Dosu’s activity.
If there is a filter we missed that you’d love to have, reach out and let us know.
♻️ Archive Threads
Done everything you need to do with a thread? Never want to see it again?
Just hit the Archive icon on the thread and it will be hidden from view for you and your team. You can always find it again back by changing the default filters to show archived threads.
🚛 Bulk Actions
Overwhelmed with the backlog? Always wanted to hit inbox zero? You can now take bulk actions to read or archive all messages in your backlog in one singe click.
🧑🎨 For the designers out there, that right and left justified menu is for you.
💄Empty State Glow Up
Our frontend and design teams have been cranking.
For those new to Dosu and don’t know where to begin, we shipped brand new (and beautiful) empty states.
As always, please share any feedback or feature requests! We are here to help.
Until next month,
The Dosu Team
